407 brings convenience, investment opportunity to Lindsay!

For those who are searching for a new home in Lindsay, getting around is about to get faster, as phase 1 of the 407 extension is now open, and the extensions through to the new 418 and Hwy 115 are progressing quickly.  This new highway extension will make getting to and from Lindsay from the GTA much easier.

The new 407 extension is six-lanes east-west from Brock Road to Highway 412 through Whitby, to four lanes from Highway 412 to Harmony Rd. with six interchanges, including Brock Road, Baldwin Street, & Simcoe Street. Part of the extension also includes a four-lane highway 412 connecting the 407 and 401 highways.

On top of additional ability to travel easily east and west across Durham region, the 407 builders have been mindful of the environment as well, with more than 147 hectares of ecological restoration taking place.

Phase 2 of the extension, which extends to the new 418 is planned for completion in 2017.  The Phase 3 expansion will extend all the way to Hwy 115, and will complete the connection between Hwy 35 and the 115 just north-east of Clarington in 2020.

This is great news for those who live in the area. The incredibly-fast and convenient highway access to York Region, Durham and the GTA will be perfect for those who need to regularly travel west, and puts the region on the map for greater investment and opportunity!
