Holiday events around the Ravines of Lindsay

Lindsay is a town full of charm and never is that more evident than when it comes to the holiday season. As the holiday music makes its way into our radio stations and the streets come to life with the gorgeous colours and the bright lights of the season, there are plenty of fun events for you and your family in the Kawartha Lakes region.

From November 9th to the 12th, just a short drive north of Lindsay, in Bobcaygeon, The Festival of Trees kicks off the festivities for the season.  This four-day event has visitors wandering through the Kawartha Settlers’ Village, and looking at the trees, wreaths, and other seasonal decorations. Visitors can even enter to win some of these fabulously decorated items. Don’t forget to check out the variety of activities happening inside the different buildings as well.  Sponsored by businesses across the Kawartha Lakes region, The 20th Annual Festival of Trees promises a great day out for you and your family.

Come November 18th, Christmas at the Marshlands kicks off.  This one-day event and Village tradition sits nestled inside the Marshland Centre featuring a boutique style showcase of original works by local artisans. This community market is a great place to pick up some unique gifts for family and friends such as handcrafted items like pottery, jewellery, jams, honey, and so much more.

November 19th sees the big man himself make his annual appearance in Lindsay.  Packed with floats, marching bands, and a visit from jolly old St. Nick himself!  The Parade begins at 2 pm and runs right through the heart of downtown Lindsay.  This year’s event promises to be EVEN BIGGER with a grant from the Kawartha Lakes Community and Development Fund in honour of Canada 150.

Back by popular demand, Elvis: Christmas With The King is back at the Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough.  International tribute artist Matt Cage of “Million Dollar Quartet” fame, takes the stage for a night of classic Elvis hits and a sprinkle of traditional holiday tunes.  You’ll be dancing in your seats as he joins with the Peterborough Pops for the concert of the season! Tickets for this December 2nd concert are available through the Showplace box office.

These are just a few of the events happening in the Kawarthas over the holiday season so make sure to bundle up and explore a slice of Lindsay. For more information on these and other events for you and your family, click here.
